In
the past few years, many schools have created school
garden projects. This has usually has two aims; to improve
the school environment and to provide an 'outside classroom'
with opportunities to explore curriculum aims via new
and exciting means.
Foundry School in Handsworth are one of the schools
that has taken advantage of the project in 2003 to plant
roses in the school gardens.
Shades
of Black can assist those schools that are considering
or require further assistance with their school garden
projects. With our experiences from the HELP
project, our volunteers will work closely with teachers
and pupils, parents and other stake holders to turn
your project into a successful one that will be appreciated
for many school generations to come.
If
you are a parent and think your children's school could
benefit from a school garden, why not suggest it to
the school? Suggest Shade of Black as a source of help
with the project too.
