Harvest Festival

View The Gallery
At Harvest Festivals, Christians thank God for all the good things that come from the earth. Thanksgiving and harvest ceremonies and celebrations for a successful harvest are both worldwide and very ancient. We have given thanks for successful harvests for many generations and celebrate by singing, praying and decorating our churches with baskets of fruit and food. In many schools and in Churches, people bring in food and flowers from home. The food is usually distributed to those in need in the community.

The produce harvested from the HELP project is donated by Shades of Black to the senior citizens at the harvest festival service in October each year. Housebound individuals, local mosques, local churches, pupils and their parents through the schools, have all received boxes of fresh vegetables and flowers. This hopefully will play an important and essential role in the healthy eating, campaign and social inclusion.

of past harvest festivals.
